Photography Tips for Rookies!

Just walking into a photography store or retail store, and asking the store clerk for a good DSLR camera, can get you to walk out with a lot of accessories and features you are not even going to use any time soon. Features you will not use are only going to complicate your efforts to make good shots while you are a beginning photographer. It is important that you do some research before you purchase. You can read about it online, and you can talk to photographers who have been making successful pictures already.

Always keep in mind that not only the camera you are using is important if you want to make great pictures. The main thing to consider is what is going to be in the picture. Certain colors just do not work out that well with other colors. What time of the day are you making your photos? What is the position of the sun? Yes, you can get yourself a professional DSLR camera and take a class. But you need to realize that a very basic camera can make very nice pictures as well, as long as the composition is nice.

You do not need extra lenses to get started with making great photos. But if that idea makes you uneasy, and you do have the money to invest in something better, go for a zoom lens. That is a lens that will give you the capability of zooming and focusing on a small object. A zoom lens will help you improve accuracy with about a fifth, and you can take pictures from more different angles.

DSLR cameras are great, but not necessary if you have never taken a photo before. The most simple camera is great if you are not planning on reading the instruction manual or taking a class. Digital photography is more fun however than any other kind of photography, especially if you want to enjoy the results immediately. You can load your images on to a laptop or desktop computer. You can print your photos with a regular printer, or with one that is especially for photos.

It is always a good idea to make sure that your first camera is one that you can use for years, but that is at the same time not too complicated to start with. That is also easier financially. You can buy one lens or other accessory at a time, following your artistic progress.
